The project integrated practical training will take place in the Gambia over a period of 6 weeks, and has been developed to respond to specific issues on the ground. With a 22 percent prevalence of child malnutrition in the country, you will be working on a project, in collaboration with UNICEF and the United Nations World Food Programme, to improve food security through the development of school gardens.

Unlike voluntourism projects, CARLA International incorporates the practical training component in order to give each volunteer the knowledge and skills needed to make a real difference to disadvantaged communities. During the programme you will be actively involved in planning and implementing a project that makes a positive and sustainable impact on the lives of children in Africa.
