CARLA International understands that where households and communities have poor access to resources they are especially vulnerable to stresses and shocks, such as soil degradation and drought. Centring on livelihood promotion, our projects and programmes aim to improve marginalised and vulnerable communities access to resources, in order to reduce their risk and vulnerability, improve their food security and enhance their wellbeing. Our projects involve the support of sustainable livelihood activities through education, training and capacity building, as well as the support of improved  health through the implementation of community based water and sanitation solutions.

 

 

CARLA International takes a strong social development perspective in the design and implementation of projects and programmes. Through the use of our Sustainable Livelihood and Wellbeing framework, we work alongside communities and partner organisations to understand and develop situation specific, and culturally relevant approaches to poverty reduction that offer a holistic and sustainable means for communities and households to reduce poverty and increase their wellbeing.
